Weekend Work

We are now in our longest and biggest project: the satin and chiffon flowers. The lighter teal blue is all cut and singed, now just forming the flowers. While I am forming the flowers, my Puma is working on sizing, cutting, and burning the edges of the dark blue fabric.  We also have ivory and a champagne blush to go. Look forward to so pic heavy posts coming up of these. I am very proud of the flowers. They are so pretty!

Sunday Night Tasks

So, we are having a blast watching Dr. Who and working on wedding projects.  Puma is working on the Save the Dates, and I...am undecided.  I can either work on the fabric flowers or the paper flowers. Either way.....flowers!

Because the Lion doesn't have a green thumb...

...we are making all our flowers out of fabric and paper.  That way they can also be done waaaaaay in advance and we don't have to worry about wilting or dying, or if they will even be available.

All the fabric was purchased at JoAnn's Day After Thanksgiving sale.  We got all the fabric, plus the fabric for my dress bodice, for $85 dollars.  I think we came out ahead here.

So tonight's hang time with the puma will be cutting out petals and singing the edges to keep them from fraying.  Fun!

Homework Fail

So, as you can obviously see...we failed our homework. Failed hard. Between work and finishing prep for Christmas, we lost available time for crafting and sorting.  This past week we completely finished one project, and have five in progress.  Look forward to the upcoming posts.

Thank for sticking with us.  This is not as easy as we once thought it was going to be.  Originally we thought the guest list was going to be 50, but once we started listing down who was important to us and who we wanted to include...well, it's nearly doubled. But! We will still maintain our goal budget.  Just...getting a little craftier.

Homework: 12/17-12/21

Assignments:

~settle on a Save-The-Date design. DLed and ready for printing.
~cut out the lighter blue fabric for petal circles. Singe edges to keep from fraying.
~create three boutonnieres.
~Finish Can Of Dates assembly.

This can totally be done.
